Dr Phill Harniess

Phill is a clinical academic physiotherapist currently undertaking a Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). His PhD title is Optimising Parental Engagement in Early Intervention Occupational and Physiotherapy for Infants with Cerebral Palsy (known as the Optimise EI study), which is due to be completed in late 2022. He has specialised in early identification and intervention of neurodevelopmental disorders.

He is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and UCL (Institute of Education) and also sits within the GOSH Centre for Outcomes and Experience Research in Children’s Health Illness and Disability (ORCHID). He has been involved in a number of previous and current clinical research projects, including successful grant applications and collaborations. Previously, he was involved in developing early identification clinical assessment and treatment pathways from neonatal settings into community services and presently supports this work in GOSH.
