
Neela Basu
Neela Basu is a Parent Infant Psychotherapist and UKCP registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist who runs a Parent Infant Psychotherapy service in City and Hackney Specialist CAMHS. Neela has experience of providing psychological support as part of the multi-disciplinary team at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Homerton Hospital for families and preterm infants and continuing to follow up care within the community. She has facilitated parent groups, reflective practice for neonatal doctors, midwives and health visitors as well as providing psychotherapeutic support for families. Neela is passionate about the importance of family-centred care. Neela teaches about the therapeutic relationship at the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education and is a Parent Infant Observation Seminar Leader at Anna Freud/UCL.
Neela’s work is particularly informed by her training in Infant Observation and research on attunement and parent-infant communication.
