Maria Chifa
Maria Chifa is the mother of a perfectly healthy born girl and of twin girls born prematurely, at 28 weeks gestation. She is a veteran of the intensive care unit, gaining experience across three different hospitals, which inspired her to write `Prematurity and Parenthood: Poetry from within the NICU` to empower other families that go through similar situations.
Maria graduated with a BSc in Psychology with Education, an MSc by Research in Psychology (both from Middlesex University, London), and recently became a certified life coach. She is passionate about contributing to the improvement of the NICU babies` and families` experience, and with her University supervisor, Prof. Fabia Franco, she held talks at various hospitals and conferences to raise awareness about the negative impact of the NICU sounds on families.
